Changing airports in Istanbul is not the same as changing terminals. Istanbul Airport (IST) is on the European side, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) is on the Asian side. The journey crosses a large metropolitan area and can be affected significantly by traffic, weather, road works and the time of day.
A private transfer removes the uncertainty of finding transport after arrival, but it cannot remove passport control, baggage delivery, road conditions or airline check-in requirements. These must all be included when deciding whether the connection is realistic.
How the private transfer works
After landing, complete passport control when required, collect checked baggage and follow the confirmed airport meeting instructions. Our representative connects you with the assigned professional driver and private vehicle for the journey to the second airport.
Meeting at Istanbul Airport (IST)
After baggage collection and customs, proceed to Exit Gate 13 and the M-55 Meeting Point. Give the representative the lead passenger's reservation name. Personalized signs are not permitted at the meeting point.
Meeting at Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW)
After completing the arrival formalities, proceed to the arrivals-hall TÜRSAB Meeting Point and follow the instructions sent with your written confirmation.
How much connection time do you need?
There is no responsible universal answer. The safe window depends on the arriving airport, immigration status, checked baggage, separate-ticket risk, day and time, airline check-in deadline and the second flight's domestic or international status.
Travelers using separate tickets may need to collect luggage, travel across the city and check in again. That requires much more time than a protected airline connection with luggage checked through.
Why we do not guarantee a journey time
Istanbul traffic can change quickly. A quotation can include a recommended pickup and planning margin, but no transfer company can guarantee road travel time between IST and SAW. The guest remains responsible for airline, visa, baggage and check-in requirements.
Choosing the correct vehicle
The number of passengers alone is not enough. Large suitcases, cabin bags, strollers, wheelchairs and sports equipment all affect vehicle capacity. We assign a suitable Vito, Transporter, Sprinter or comparable confirmed class after reviewing the full luggage list.
