Turn your connection into a carefully timed private Istanbul experience. Choose a realistic plan for a 6, 8, 10 or 12-hour layover, with airport meeting, private transfers, licensed guiding and a conservative return around your onward flight.
Plans for 6–12-hour connectionsPrivate groupGuide + airport transfersFrom €300
The standard private package combines airport meeting support,
arrival transfer, a licensed guide in the Old City and the
return transfer. The exact quote depends on the airport,
connection window, group size, luggage and requested language.
Why a private layover works differently
A layover is not a normal sightseeing day. Your usable time begins only after passport control, baggage and airport exit, and it must end early enough for a safe return to the terminal. We build the route around that real window rather than promising an unrealistic list of attractions.
Flight-aware planning before the service is confirmed
One local team coordinating airport meeting, transfers and guiding
A flexible route that can shorten or change if traffic or arrival formalities take longer
Monuments, local life, food and traditional craftsmanship can be included when time allows; purchasing is always optional
Can your connection work?
Send both flight numbers, arrival and departure times, airport,
passenger count and luggage details. We calculate the usable city
window only after allowing for immigration, baggage, road travel,
airport security and your airline’s check-in or boarding rules.
IST and SAW require different transfer times
Passengers must be legally able to enter Türkiye
Checked baggage collection can reduce sightseeing time
The city route is confirmed only after a safe return window is possible

PLAN BY TOTAL CONNECTION TIME
What fits your Istanbul layover?
These examples use your total scheduled connection time—not time already available in the city. Passport control, baggage, airport meeting, both road journeys and the departure buffer are deducted first. Traffic, queues, prayer times and official closures can change the final route.
AROUND 6 HOURS · LIMITED
Essential Sultanahmet
A carefully timed first look at the Old City: Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque according to access and queues, plus the Hippodrome and Arasta Bazaar when the real arrival time permits. Because Istanbul traffic is variable, the route may be shortened immediately to protect your onward flight.
AROUND 8–10 HOURS
Private Old City Experience
A more comfortable Sultanahmet route with Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome and time for selected additional highlights. Basilica Cistern, Arasta Bazaar or the Grand Bazaar may be added according to the day, opening hours, queues and your interests.
AROUND 12 HOURS
Old City + Bosphorus
Combine the Old City with a Bosphorus experience when the flight schedule, traffic and cruise timing work safely. The Grand Bazaar can be included separately when open, or exchanged for another stop if you prefer a slower pace.
Total connection time− immigration & baggage− airport-to-city travel− return travel− 2–2.5-hour airport buffer= usable Istanbul time
RETURN SAFETY FIRST
Back at the airport 2–2.5 hours before departure
Our normal planning target is to have you inside the airport approximately 2 to 2.5 hours before the onward flight. Airline instructions, separate tickets, baggage re-check or special travel conditions may require more time.
ISTANBUL TRAFFIC
The final route stays flexible
Road conditions can change quickly. Your guide and operations team may shorten, reorder or replace stops on the day. The onward flight always takes priority over completing a fixed sightseeing list.
Arriving after dark?
Our Private Istanbul Night Layover Tour focuses on illuminated Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque from outside, Sultanahmet after dark and a carefully selected rooftop with panoramic Istanbul views. The exact venue and route depend on opening hours, weather, traffic and your flight schedule.
A REALISTIC PLAN
Suggested itinerary
The sequence is flexible and may change for traffic, weather,
prayer times, official closures and your group’s pace.
01
Airport meeting
Follow the confirmed IST or SAW instructions and meet the
representative.
02
Private transfer
Travel to the selected district; traffic is monitored.
03
Compact city route
Visit the strongest combination available for your actual city
window.
04
Optional meal or viewpoint
Add only when timing remains comfortable.
05
Airport return
Depart the city at the agreed time for terminal procedures.
What is included
Airport meeting support
Private arrival transfer to the Old City
Licensed guide meeting in the Old City
Private return transfer to the airport
Layover timing assessment and route planning
Not included
Visa/entry permission and airline services
Admission tickets, meals and drinks
Airport luggage storage fees
Missed-flight costs or gratuities
Meeting & pickup
At IST, after customs use Exit Gate 13 and meet at the M-55
Meeting Point. Passport control, baggage and customs often take
around one hour. After your name is verified, please allow 10–15
minutes while the driver completes airport security and
controlled vehicle access. At SAW, meet at the arrivals-hall
TÜRSAB meeting point. Exact instructions are sent with
confirmation.
Tickets
Any admission is separate. For shorter layovers we favor outdoor
highlights and low-risk stops; timed tickets are recommended
only when the schedule supports them.
Duration & walking
The city portion depends on airport, traffic and flight
schedule. A headline layover can yield several hours less after
immigration, transfers and return procedures.
Suitability & accessibility
Only for passengers who can legally enter Türkiye and have
enough connection time. SAW is farther from the historic center
and needs a larger margin than IST.
Arrival formalitiesOften around 1 hour
Passport control, baggage delivery and customs are part of your
usable layover time, so we calculate the city plan
conservatively.
After name verificationPlease allow 10–15 minutes
The representative calls the driver forward. The vehicle is
positioned in the airport area in advance; the short security
and access wait is normal airport procedure.
Payment, confirmation & cancellation
Your request is reviewed before it becomes a confirmed booking.
Cash in EUR, USD, TRY or GBP is preferred; card payment at the office POS normally carries the bank’s approximately 5–7% processing fee. Unless your
written quote states a stricter supplier term, cancellation at
least 24 hours before service is refundable. Yacht, special
vehicle, ticket and third-party activity bookings may have
separate conditions, which are shown before payment.
Istanbul as a living culture
We introduce the city through its monuments, local life, food and traditional craftsmanship. A bazaar or selected workshop may be included when it suits the route and available time. These are cultural experiences, and purchasing is always entirely optional.
Know before you go
Guests must verify visa, passport, baggage and airline
requirements.
For international departures, airports/airlines may recommend
arriving around three hours before departure.
Separate tickets and re-checking baggage require extra time.
The itinerary may be reduced immediately if immigration or the
inbound flight is delayed.
Questions guests ask
How long must my layover be?
It depends on airport, terminal formalities and travel date.
Send both flight numbers and times; we confirm only after
calculating a safe window.
Can my luggage stay in the vehicle?
Only if vehicle capacity and the agreed service allow it.
Valuables should remain with you.
What if my inbound flight is late?
We shorten or cancel the city portion according to the
confirmed terms and prioritize the airport return.
Do you guarantee the onward flight?
No. We plan conservatively, but immigration, traffic,
airlines and security are outside our control.

Our planning principle
Your onward flight comes first
We would rather shorten a route than create unnecessary risk. The final itinerary follows your real arrival time and current road conditions.
